In collaboration with other parts of the RSK Group, tes offers a comprehensive, integrated stakeholder engagement service that enables you to avoid potential project showstoppers. We identify key statutory and non-statutory stakeholders, analyse their views and transform the feedback into constructive measures. We then help you to broadcast the messages you need to prevent conflict and delay.
Ail Wynt is an award-winning wind farm developed by three Welsh sheep farmers. We were asked to obtain the support of the local community before a crucial planning meeting. We produced a communication strategy, a brand, a website, a brochure and displays, and distributed newsletters to local communities. By telling the wind farmers’ story and communicating the issues of climate change and renewable energy, we garnered overwhelming support for the project. The project subsequently gained planning permission and positive media coverage.
The UK National Trust was keen to share the experience it had gained from a sustainable housing project. We produced materials that explained to local communities that the proposed housing development would be a best-practice example of sustainability. Four years later, when the first stage of the project was complete, we produced a magazine-style review. This publication is used as a key transfer-knowledge tool and to share best practice with government and other strategic bodies.
ScottishPower Renewables initial brief was simple: “Help us win consents.” We produced a communication strategy, followed by a wide range of communication materials, including stakeholder engagement work. Within two years, the company had gained consent for two of Europe’s largest onshore wind farms. ScottishPower Renewables won a communication award and the Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development. The company has now merged with Iberdrola.
