tes is increasingly asked to help companies demonstrate corporate social responsibility. Not only is running your business along ethical and sustainable lines the right thing to do, it also helps you to win more work and generate a positive image.
Ethical operation is central to Schlumberger’s business model. The company strives to train and employ people from the countries in which it works, and invests in local education and infrastructure. We recently produced a booklet defining what sustainability means to Schlumberger in Angola and detailing how it is investing in building sustainable support services in the country and conducting its business without undue social and environmental impacts.
tes was asked by Schlumberger to create a series of case studies to illustrate the organisation’s Global Citizenship initiative. Schlumberger believes that it can make a difference to people’s lives in six priority areas: climate change, environment, driving safety, malaria, HIV/AIDS and education. We worked with the company to create and source text and illustrations to produce a set of case studies for each theme. These form a library of publications: standalone case studies, themed publications and a combined booklet. The publications were well received and form a key element in Schlumberger’s Global Citizenship reporting.
